Comprehensive Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Program

Medical Assessment. Advanced Pelvic Chair Treatment. Physiotherapy. One Coordinated Pathway.

Pelvic floor symptoms can affect confidence, exercise, relationships, sleep and everyday quality of life - but they do not always have one simple cause.

That is why Cayman Medical's Comprehensive Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Program brings together several important aspects of pelvic health care rather than relying on one treatment alone.

Over approximately three weeks, your care combines physician assessment and follow-up, appropriate investigations, six Rejuvenation C™ Pelvic Chair treatments and individualized physiotherapy.

The result is a coordinated approach designed to understand your symptoms, strengthen and retrain your pelvic floor, monitor your progress and determine the most appropriate next steps for you.

The program is available for both women and men, and many medically necessary components may be eligible for insurance coverage depending on your individual health plan.

More Than Pelvic Floor Exercises. More Than a Chair Treatment.

Pelvic floor dysfunction is only one possible cause of urinary, bowel or pelvic symptoms.

Simply strengthening the pelvic floor may not be enough if another medical, hormonal, structural or functional issue is contributing to your symptoms.

Our approach therefore combines:

  • Physician assessment and medical oversight
  • Targeted investigations when clinically appropriate
  • Rejuvenation C™ electromagnetic pelvic floor treatment
  • Individualized pelvic health physiotherapy
  • Progress monitoring during treatment
  • A final medical assessment and plan for next steps

This allows different members of your clinical team to work together toward the same goal: helping you achieve the best possible pelvic health and function.

Could Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Be Affecting You?

Pelvic floor problems can affect women and men at many different stages of life.

You may benefit from an assessment if you experience symptoms such as:

  • Urine leakage when coughing, sneezing, laughing, lifting or exercising
  • A sudden or difficult-to-control urge to urinate
  • Difficulty reaching the bathroom before leakage occurs
  • Stress, urge or mixed urinary incontinence
  • Changes in bladder control following pregnancy or childbirth
  • Pelvic floor weakness following pregnancy
  • Changes in pelvic floor function associated with menopause
  • Urinary leakage following prostate surgery or treatment
  • General pelvic floor muscle weakness
  • Pelvic pressure or reduced pelvic support
  • Mild to moderate pelvic organ prolapse where pelvic floor strengthening is clinically appropriate
  • Leakage during running, jumping, lifting or other physical activity
  • Reduced sexual sensation or satisfaction where pelvic floor weakness may be contributing
  • Other persistent changes in urinary, bowel or pelvic function

Having one of these symptoms does not automatically mean that pelvic floor weakness is the cause.

Your initial medical assessment is an important part of determining what may be contributing to your symptoms and whether this rehabilitation approach is appropriate for you.

Your Pelvic Rehabilitation Journey

The core program consists of six treatment sessions over approximately three weeks, typically scheduled twice each week.

Rather than leaving you to navigate separate services yourself, physician care, pelvic chair treatment and physiotherapy are coordinated as part of the same treatment pathway.

Step 1 - Understand What Is Happening

Your journey begins with a comprehensive physician assessment.

We review your symptoms, medical history, relevant life events and treatment goals and determine whether additional investigation is appropriate.

Depending on your individual circumstances, this may include urine testing and selected pregnancy or hormone testing where clinically appropriate.

This first stage helps ensure that your symptoms are not simply assumed to be caused by pelvic floor weakness.

Step 2 - Establish Your Physiotherapy Baseline

You will receive an initial physiotherapy assessment to evaluate your current function and establish an individualized rehabilitation plan.

Physiotherapy may include, when clinically appropriate:

  • Targeted therapeutic exercises
  • Pelvic floor muscle retraining
  • Neuromuscular re-education
  • Functional movement and activity training
  • Strategies to improve control during everyday activities
  • Education and self-management techniques

Step 3 - Rejuvenation C™ Pelvic Chair Treatment

Each of your six treatment sessions includes treatment with the Rejuvenation C™ Pelvic Chair.

The chair uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic stimulation to produce powerful, repeated contractions of the pelvic floor muscles while you remain comfortably seated and fully clothed.

A Rejuvenation C™ treatment takes approximately 28 minutes and is designed to deliver pelvic floor muscle stimulation equivalent to more than 11,000 Kegel exercises.

There is no internal device, injection or surgical procedure, and you can return to your usual activities after treatment.

Step 4 - Build Strength, Control and Function

At subsequent visits, Rejuvenation C™ treatment is combined with individualized physiotherapy.

The chair provides intensive pelvic floor muscle stimulation while physiotherapy focuses on helping you use and control those muscles effectively during real-life activities.

This combination allows rehabilitation to address both muscle activation and functional use.

Step 5 - Physician Progress Review

Around the middle of your treatment course, your physician reviews your progress.

This provides an opportunity to discuss changes in your symptoms, evaluate your response and decide whether any part of your care needs to be adjusted or investigated further.

Step 6 - Final Assessment & Next Steps

At the end of the initial six-session course, your physician performs a final assessment.

Together, we review your progress and determine the most appropriate next steps based on your individual response.

Further physiotherapy, maintenance treatment, additional medical evaluation or another treatment approach may be recommended when appropriate.

Why Is a Physician Part of the Program?

Urinary leakage and other pelvic symptoms can arise for many different reasons.

Pelvic floor weakness may be part of the problem, but symptoms may also require medical assessment or investigation.

Depending on your history and findings, further evaluation may include:

  • Urine testing
  • Pregnancy testing when appropriate
  • Selected hormone testing when appropriate
  • Pelvic examination
  • Bladder assessment
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Other clinically appropriate investigations

If another condition is suspected, referral to a gynecologist, urologist, urogynecologist or another appropriate healthcare professional may also be recommended.

Pelvic rehabilitation should never delay appropriate investigation or treatment of another medical condition.

Why Combine the Pelvic Chair With Physiotherapy?

Stronger muscles are only part of pelvic rehabilitation.

Your pelvic floor must also work at the right time and coordinate with movement, breathing and everyday activities.

The Rejuvenation C™ Pelvic Chair provides intensive pelvic floor muscle stimulation, while physiotherapy helps translate that muscle activation into better control, coordination and functional use.

Your physiotherapy treatment is individualized. The specific techniques used depend on what your physiotherapist determines is medically appropriate for you.

Can the Pelvic Rehabilitation Program Be Covered by Insurance?

Yes - many components of the program may be eligible for insurance coverage when medically necessary.

Depending on your insurance plan, eligible services may include physician consultations, clinically appropriate investigations, physiotherapy and qualifying pelvic floor treatment services.

Coverage varies between insurers and policies and may depend on:

  • Your individual health insurance benefits
  • Medical necessity
  • Prior authorization requirements
  • Deductibles and copayments
  • Your insurer's allowed amounts and coverage rules

Some elements may not be covered by every insurance policy. Please contact Cayman Medical to discuss your insurance coverage before beginning treatment.

Pelvic Rehabilitation for Women and Men

Pelvic floor dysfunction is not just a women's health issue.

Our rehabilitation pathway is designed to accommodate premenopausal women, menopausal women and men, with the medical assessment and investigations tailored accordingly.

Women may seek treatment following pregnancy or childbirth, during or after menopause, or because of bladder or pelvic floor symptoms at another stage of life.

Men may benefit from assessment for pelvic floor weakness or urinary leakage, including symptoms occurring following prostate surgery or other prostate treatment.

Why Choose Cayman Medical for Pelvic Rehabilitation?

Pelvic health often requires more than one type of treatment.

At Cayman Medical, the advantage is that your medical assessment, investigations, advanced pelvic chair treatment and physiotherapy can be coordinated within one clinical environment.

Your physician and physiotherapist can monitor your progress throughout the treatment course and adjust your care when clinically appropriate.

If your symptoms require additional assessment, our multidisciplinary environment also allows us to coordinate diagnostic imaging or specialist care when needed.

All of this takes place in the private, tranquil and comfortable setting of Cayman Medical, with your privacy, dignity and confidentiality prioritized throughout your care.
